Life is unpredictable, and sometimes parents need childcare on short notice. Whether it’s an unexpected appointment, a last-minute work meeting, or your usual childcare provider is unavailable, finding safe and reliable care for your child can be stressful.
While spots are typically not guaranteed, Flex Care can accommodate families who need temporary, high-quality childcare when space is available.
What is Flex Care?
Flex Care is a short-term childcare option for families who need occasional care. Unlike full-time enrollment, both part-time enrollment and Flex Care are usually only available when an open spot exists.
✔️ Typically no long-term commitment required
✔️ Perfect for occasional or emergency childcare needs
✔️ Children usually participate in all scheduled daily activities
Who might Benefit from a Flex Care Program?
Flex Care is designed to help families who need occasional childcare in situations such as:
✔️ Unexpected work meetings or last-minute schedule changes
✔️ Errands or appointments where bringing a child isn’t ideal
✔️ School holidays, snow days, or teacher workdays
✔️ Their regular childcare provider is closed or unavailable
✔️ A parent needs temporary childcare for personal reasons
If you ever find yourself in one of these situations, a Flex Care Program could be the perfect solution!
How to Use Flex Care
Since Flex Care is usually only offered when space is available, parents typically must do one of the following:
1. Contact the Program to Check Availability
✔️ Call or message as soon as possible to see if there is an open spot.
✔️ Check the Program’s website for a number to call or message or visit their online chat
2. Consider Joining a Flex Care Priority List
✔️ If you anticipate needing Flex Care often, you often can complete your enrollment forms ahead of time so that paperwork is ready when a spot is available.
✔️ Being on a priority list, however, typically does not guarantee a spot—availability may be based on the program’s overall current enrollment.
✔️While a spot may not be guaranteed, priority will usually be given to families on the Flex Care Priority List over those requesting Flex Care who are not on that list.
3. Complete an Enrollment Form
✔️ All children using Flex Care usually must have an enrollment form on file.
✔️ If this is your first time using Flex Care, the Program will probably provide the necessary paperwork.
4. Pay the Required Fee in Full Before Drop-Off
✔️ Flex Care is typically available at a daily or partial-day rate
✔️ While each progran varies, be prepared to make your payment in full before dropping off your child. (For families who use the Flex Care option frequently, some prograns may off weekly payment arrangements.)
5. Drop Off and Pick Up On Time
✔️ Once approved, bring your child at the agreed-upon time.
✔️ Pick-up times should follow the regular schedule policies.
What Do Flex Care Children Do?
Children who attend Flex Care usually participate in all regular activities scheduled for the day.
✔️ Engaging, structured learning activities
✔️ Outdoor play and hands-on learning
✔️ Unique curriculum curriculum (be it preschool, Montessori, bilingual, sensorial, Bible-based, etc.)
✔️ Exploration and play
✔️ Healthy meals and snacks (if applicable to their schedule)
Your child will experience the same loving, structured environment as full-time students, even if they are only present for a short time!
Common Parent Concerns About Flex Care
